Description

This rope workshop will be a hand-on class with active participation and rope tying.

We will start by establishing aesthetic guidelines and principles for our ties as an overarching theme of the intermediate series. We will focus on a) modular tying, b) intentionality, c) nawajiri management, and d) philosophy of minimalism, model-centric photography, and wabi-sabi aesthetics.

The Hogtie class will include explicit instruction on:

  • 2-rope reserve tension gote

  • using nawajiri to tie a futomomo

  • adding excess rope to create an over-tied aesthetic.

Prerequisites: Single column, experience with basic chest harness, basic understandings of tension and rope placement.

Requirements:  at least 6 hanks of rope at 20-30+ft in length.
