Description

Ropes in Motion is back again for Summer 2026!

What is this event all about:

This is a free low key outdoor rope event focused on unconventional, unstructured movement and flow. A chance for lovers of rope and dance/contact improv to come together for socializing and snacking in the sun. This event is for everyone! All skill levels welcome, from rope curious to advanced rope players.
Rope and/or dance experience NOT required!

What this event is NOT all about:

It is not a class/workshop setting, though skillsharing is welcome.
It is not about technical traditional Japanese shibari or kinbaku rope, and suspension is not allowed. This is a public event, be mindful of your surroundings and keep all rope PG!

Location Details:

We are usually in the grassy area across from Turtle Pond in the Arboretum. Nearest parking is the Birch/Lot 19. Exact location at the park will be posted to the links in the bio of the Ropes in Motion Instagram @seattleropesinmotion and on the Fetlife event day of by 6pm.

If you got ‘em, bring ‘em:

Rope, Cutting Tool, Picnic Blanket, Snacks and/or Drinks to share. These are not necessary to attend though!

Let’s get silly and weird with rope together! We hope to see you there!
